Stored value represents prepaid value held by a third party, such as a voucher. A lookup checks an instrument’s balance and metadata, without creating a redemption. Use it to validate an instrument or show a customer their balance before redeeming it. See Redemptions to redeem stored value.

Query a provider for the current balance and metadata of a stored value instrument.

  • Voucher: supported today, through OTT Mobile, and Blu Voucher.
  • Gift Cards: coming soon.

Key points

  • Stateless. A lookup is a read that does not create or change a redemption.
  • Provider scoped. Pass the type and the source credentials the provider requires, the same shape used to create a redemption. List the supported types with GET /collect/redemptions/types.
